Can I leave my vaporizer on for long periods of time?

A: Yes! When the vaporizer is left on all parts of the housing and internals reach an ultimate stable temperature. The vaporizer is naturally cooled by air circulating through its housing, so as the heat builds up, it leaves the box at a greater rate. We have designed every component to handle the temperature it reaches without outgassing smells or breaking down.

As long as the vaporizer is sitting on a hard surface and the cooling vents are not blocked, it can be left on indefinitely. VB units have been left on for years. Although, since the heater inside the vaporizer is red hot we do not recommend you leave the vaporizer unattended though. Turn it off if you are about to leave the house.

The effect of leaving the vaporizer on could wear it out more quickly than if you turned it off every day, but it may extend the life of the ceramic heating element and glass, as they don't have to go through the stress of heat up and cool down. We recommend turning it off at the end of the day. When it is left on long term, the wooden housing will shrink and crack slightly, with the inner black layers possibly charring and coming loose. The nature of the multi-layer laminate means that the box should not actually come apart.  But if it does, please pursue our flat rate warranty repair service. We repair any worn out parts according to our warranty terms, and offer to replace your wooden housing for a small fee.
